The 2015 British Pavilion Design Competition kicked off in January

The design competition for the UK Pavilion in 2015 will be launched in the third week of January next year. Both stages of competition will follow the theme of “Nurturing the Earth, Giving Life Energy”. The UK Pavilion 2015 is to “showcase the creativity and innovation of the UK with a special focus on food, lifestyle, technology and sustainability”.

Regardless of who wins, he will inherit Thomas · the British pavilion style designed by Heswick for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, which is described as “the largest furry building in the world”. The design consists of a plywood cube with 60,000 “tentacles”, each of which has a length of about 7.5 meters, and “the tentacles” are attached to the bottom from the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was awarded the Gold Award for the Expo Pavilion Design and later won the Lubetkin Architecture Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 2015, the UK Pavilion will make a breakthrough on this basis.
