Summer adventures and excitement await teens ages 12 to 16 at the Youth Center’s all-inclusive weekly Teen Camp offered now through Aug. 22. Campers will be engaged in outdoor activities, sports and many field trips plus get to choose planning their own activities each Mondayfor the week ahead. Upcomingplanned field trips include Catalina Island, Disney’s California Adventure, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Get Air, Knott’s Soak City, Laser Quest and O.C. Fair, to name just a few. “Teen Camp is always on the move, and we do a variety of different, fun activities,” said Youth Center Teen Camp Director Hans Lumme. “They especially like that they are a part of planning their own fun during the week.” He continued to say that among teen campers favorite activities that bring a smile to their faces is going kayaking, going to Sky High, going to the beach and Soak City, taking bike rides and going to the movies. “When the kids are happy, it energizes me and makes me happy,” said Lumme. Former teen camper and now Teen Camp Assistant Elise Chalfant said Teen Camp is fun, energetic and that campers get to meet a lot of new kids through doing the activities or just hanging out. Camp days begin and end at Rossmoor Park with basic hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. offered for the same price. Weekly tuitionis$249 a week and covers all five trips teens choose to go on. Register early as space is limited to 15 teens per week.
